Guildwood Village

Guildwood Village is a picturesque community in Toronto East nestled right on Lake Ontario. The Scarborough Bluffs, a massive memento of the ice age, extend 14 kilometres along Lake Ontario, towering 65 metres high.“The Scarborough Bluffs are an ecological treasure, and I am confident that the shoreline community treats these landscapes with the care and respect they deserve. “Let's all pitch in to keep the bluffs and shoreline clean and pristine, please!”

Guildwood Village Community Town Hall Meeting

The Guildwood Village Community Town Hall Meeting
took place on Thursday, November 3, 2011.
City Councillor Paul Ainslie invited Guildwood residents to attend and discuss any community issues they may have. Many residents attended the meeting.

Paul Ainslie informed Guildwood residents about the latest news concerning the Guild Inn (Bickford Residence) and Centennial College.
Centennial College latest proposal to purchase the Guild Inn property to build condominiums, restaurant and other facilities in the park
has been rejected by the City of Toronto
A new RFP - Request for Proposal to interested parties
will be issued by the City of Toronto very shortly to
include a restaurant but no boutique hotel at the existing site.
Deadline for the RFP is scheduled for May 2012.
Can this heritage building be preserved or rebuild?

Questions from the community included and answered:
Will the City of Toronto pave walking trails in Grey Abbey Park?
No trails will be paved in the park or across the sports field area!!

My question:
Does the City of Toronto has by-laws in place to restrict cyclists in our parks?
No, cyclist have unrestricted access to any parks in the City of Toronto!
I am posting an official cycling map for our Guildwood Village area for your perusal.

Let me extend my gratitude to City Councillor Paul Ainslie and his staff for organizing the Guildwood Village community town hall meeting.
I believe that it is in the best interest of all Guildwood residents
to have the opportunity to discuss any community issues in public.
